Privacy Notice
This notice explains what personal data Rendiq collects, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated October 2026
Who we are
Rendiq is operated by Julie Winstanley, trading as Rendiq, in the United Kingdom. For the data described here, Julie Winstanley is the data controller — meaning we decide why and how your personal data is used.
What we collect and why
- Account data — email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile Google returns. Used to create and secure your account. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- Creator profile and content — your niche, audience, goals, product facts, uploaded video files, generated variations and drafts. Used to provide the service and produce your videos. Legal basis: contract.
- Usage and render records — which renders you have completed and when, so we can apply your plan allowance and show your usage. Legal basis: contract.
- Support messages — what you send us when you get in touch. Legal basis: legitimate interests in helping our customers.
- Technical data — IP address, device and browser information, and error logs. Used for security, fraud prevention and fixing faults. Legal basis: legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and working.
- Marketing — if you opt in, your email address is used to send product updates. Legal basis: consent, withdrawable at any time.
Payment card details are never collected or seen by us — they are handled entirely by Stripe.
Who we share it with
- Stripe, our payment processor, for the sale of our plans, subscription management, payments, invoicing and tax compliance.
- Service providers (subprocessors) — our hosting and database provider, our cloud video rendering provider, and our AI providers, which process the text and audio needed to generate your variations and select clips.
- Professional advisers such as accountants or lawyers, where necessary.
- Authorities, where we are required to by law.
We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK and EEA, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards — UK/EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision — to protect your data to an equivalent standard.
How long we keep it
Account and billing records are kept while your account is open and for up to six years afterwards where tax law requires it. Uploaded source videos and rendered outputs are kept while your account is open and deleted within 30 days of account closure. Technical logs are kept for up to 12 months. Anything no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data, correct it, have it erased, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Account & Billing.
To exercise any right, email us at hello@getrendiq.com. We respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls that restrict your content to your own account, and secrets held in encrypted storage rather than in code.
Cookies and similar technologies
Rendiq uses only essential cookies and browser storage — to keep you signed in, to hold your draft work, and to keep checkout secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser at any time, though doing so will sign you out.
Changes
If we make material changes to this notice we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
